I took flight with the night in my hand,
whispering my secrets to the sky’s teardrops,
knowing that when I arrived back on Earth,
I would be changed for the better.
Giving chase to the galaxy,
I was surrounded by myself.
I had been so many children,
in so many years,
and I had no idea who I would be when I was born again,
but my heart raced at the thought of meeting her, at last.
The night was as long as my raven mane,
made wayward by the whistling winds.
The stars spoke clearly,
with a gentle tone,
and their warmth wrapped around me,
like I was worthy of their love.
