Bakery

Blue shirt, blue sweater,

brazen in the bakery,

with your deep blue eyes, and all the lies I know you’ll lay on me,

winking and waving,

as my will is waning.

You wax lyrical about how much you like my lyrics,

licking your lips as you trace mine with your painted fingertips,

nails blue,

a colour that belongs to you, in my eyes,

and my eyes are so fixated,

irritated and tortured,

as you run slender fingers through chocolate waves and say something about going back to your place.

I am captured,

thought I had control but that idea got lost in my imagination.

I am in your arms already,

though we are parted and palatable to the public,

so let’s go.

Take me home,

you know I won’t say no.
