A Funny Thing Happened On The Way To The Bus Stop

I thought he wasn’t breathing.
I cursed myself for checking out of science class,
like I knew it all,
and for panicking on the phone,
as the kind but clearly frustrated paramedic tried to teach me how to see life.
A whole town walked by.
Different faces,
same “not my problem” look in their eyes.

I was locked in an hour,
that was only fifteen minutes,
waiting for flashing blue,
to tell me he was okay,
I did the right thing.
Everyone else was a bastard,
but,
I was great.
I was really, really great.

But,
I was just a girl,
judging others for shrugging,
for walking by,
like I couldn’t be that whole town,
walking by,
on any other day.
Judging the rest of the world,
like I knew it all.
I just made a phone call.
I just made a phone call.
He survived,
by the way.

Palo Alto Passion

Hola amigos,

I hope you’ve enjoyed the weekend. You can now watch my latest video, which contains the brand new poem “Palo Alto Passion”.

I really hope you enjoy it!

Besos,

J x

Coffee broke the ice,
glacial to feverish,
we burned out too fast.
Fire and stone.
The whole place was a beautiful blaze,
I could hear diegetic distraction,
soaring streams of strings,
supportive screams,
from the charcoaled crowd at the table beside us.
I sipped cider,
slipped ideas into your handsome head,
from text,
to trembling fingers,
promises of Palo Alto passion.
Alas,
as good things always do,
and good girls,
and good boys always must,
we burned out too fast.

You can find another version of Palo Alto Passion here.
